🧵 Common scrub fabrics
1. Cotton
- Soft, breathable, and natural
- Absorbs moisture well → keeps you cool
- Good for sensitive skin
- Downsides: wrinkles easily, less durable after many washes
👉 Best for: comfort and hot environments
2. Polyester
- Very durable and wrinkle-resistant
- Dries fast and resists stains
- Holds shape after repeated washing
- Less breathable than cotton
👉 Best for: long-term use, easy care, hospital settings
3. Spandex (or elastane)
- Adds stretch and flexibility
- Usually blended (not used alone)
- Helps with movement during long shifts
👉 Best for: mobility and comfort
4. Rayon / Modal
- Very soft, lightweight, and breathable
- Feels more “premium”
- Can wrinkle and needs gentler care
👉 Best for: softness and comfort
🔀 Blended fabrics (most common today)
Most modern scrubs are blends, not single fabrics:
- Polyester + Cotton → balance of comfort + durability
- Polyester + Spandex → stretch + wrinkle resistance
- Polyester + Rayon + Spandex → soft, stretchy, and durable (very popular)
👉 Blends are preferred because they combine:
- Comfort
- Stretch
- Durability
- Easy maintenance
