🧵 Common scrub fabrics

1. Cotton

• Soft, breathable, and natural
• Absorbs moisture well → keeps you cool
• Good for sensitive skin
• Downsides: wrinkles easily, less durable after many washes

👉 Best for: comfort and hot environments

2. Polyester

• Very durable and wrinkle-resistant
• Dries fast and resists stains
• Holds shape after repeated washing
• Less breathable than cotton

👉 Best for: long-term use, easy care, hospital settings

3. Spandex (or elastane)

• Adds stretch and flexibility
• Usually blended (not used alone)
• Helps with movement during long shifts

👉 Best for: mobility and comfort

4. Rayon / Modal

• Very soft, lightweight, and breathable
• Feels more “premium”
• Can wrinkle and needs gentler care

👉 Best for: softness and comfort

🔀 Blended fabrics (most common today)

Most modern scrubs are blends, not single fabrics:

• Polyester + Cotton → balance of comfort + durability
• Polyester + Spandex → stretch + wrinkle resistance
• Polyester + Rayon + Spandex → soft, stretchy, and durable (very popular)

👉 Blends are preferred because they combine:

• Comfort
• Stretch
• Durability
• Easy maintenance
